About SESD
The Society for Environment and Sustainable Development (SESD) is a non-governmental organization dedicated to fostering a world where people, the planet, and prosperity thrive in harmony. Registered under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860, SESD operates through education, research, partnerships, advocacy, and action, inspired by the United Nations' 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals. SESD aims to empower global communities, particularly the youth, to understand and actively contribute to the realization of these goals, ensuring social equality, economic prosperity, and environmental sustainability for all.

To provide leadership, encourage partnership, and inspire people around the world to protect the environment and achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through education, research, advocacy & action.
Our Vision
Our vision is twofold:
- To gather and disseminate information on global environmental and sustainable development issues through publications and research findings.
- To promote education, awareness, and action on environmental and sustainable development issues worldwide.
Objectives
Since its establishment on February 20, 2019, SESD has been steadfast in pursuing the objectives outlined in its Memorandum of Association (MoA), which include:
- Promoting environmental education in India and globally.
- Advocating for environmental science students to secure fulfilling employment in their field.
- Organizing conferences, programs, events, training initiatives, and research projects focused on environmental protection and sustainable development.
- Actively participating in and supporting national and global efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through research, education, and action, specifically targeting:

SESD is committed to advancing education for the environment and sustainable development, building a network of environmental degree holders, and facilitating their entry into the environmental job market. Furthermore, SESD conducts programs and activities to protect the environment and promote sustainable development, while actively participating in and supporting national and global initiatives aimed at achieving the SDGs through research, education, and action.

Our Network
SESD boasts a rapidly expanding network of environmental and sustainability professionals and individuals dedicated to collaborative efforts for the benefit of people and the planet. We have over 10,000 members directly associated with us as Life, Student and Annual Members, volunteers, interns, and resource persons. Additionally, our delegate numbers are consistently growing with the increasing number of programs, both online and offline. We offer membership options including Life Member, Student Member, and Annual Member. We also collaborate and partner with other organizations.
